Pressing into Him

In my reading I stumbled upon Hosea 6:3. Although I read the whole chapter, this verse just sticks out to me, especially in the NLT version:

Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.” (Hosea 6:3 NLT)

Read it slowly and read it carefully. This is awesome. The Lord has so much for us, he just wants us to pursue Him and stopping at salvation is stopping all that God has for us.
Press on or into the Lord. This shows that in order to gain and grow in the Lord it will take a predetermined effort on our part to press into to Him.

It’s like He has given us the huge mansion, and many people just stop right at the door and never go in. It does take effort to go in. It takes effort to move about the mansion with its many rooms, but in each room there is a new experience that brings a closer relationship with Jesus and the blessing of a step up in glory for us. In one room might be a river. In another room there might be the wind, in another the fire of His presence, and in another perhaps His visible presence.

We believe there are physical mansions for us in heaven, but what if we could enter into those mansions now, here on earth, as we press in to become more intimate with Him? What if part of the Lord’s preparing those mansions for us includes our part of entering into a deeper relationship with Him that takes us from glory to glory here on earth? Spiritually, we are seated in heavenly places even as we move here on earth.
He will reveal and respond after we press in. Pressing in by us is required. Then He emphasizes how assuredly He will respond. It's as assured as the dawn and the spring rains and the response will be as welcomed as each of the examples. The welcome is developed in the pursuit. We appreciate that which we strive and long for and God rewards in His response for that effort.
I also see in this a set time for His response. The dawn always comes at it's appointed time and although perhaps the exact day for the rains may not be known, the season for the rains is always known. That creates expectation!
I desire and long for more of Him and His presence in my life. I want His glory. I want to host His presence so that His glory can be manifest in me and effluence those around me. More of You, holy Lord, more of you!
